I've started making a list of ideas for activities to do this summer and then I saw this Doorway into Summer, which is a nice presentation of activity ideas that involves both parents and the kids.
Here's what is on my summer list so far.
Alberta Railway Museum
Fort Edmonton. We had a really nice day today exploring the park with Miss B and her kidlets and I know we'll be revisiting the park soon as its one of our favourite summer destinations.
Muttart Conservatory, which reopens June 27th.
Telephone Historical Centre
Ukranian Cultural Heritage Village
Ride the High Level Streetcar to go wading at the Legislature
Do a Cemetery Tour and check out the Edmonton and Northern Alberta District Historical Festival.
Jr has been wanting to go into the Calgary and Edmonton Railway Museum.
There are drop-in programs on Sunday afternoons at the John Walter Museum, and we can play at the Kinsmen playground after or have a picnic.
There are so many natural areas I'd like to return to for some light hiking- Chickakoo Lake, Clifford E Lee Nature Sanctuary, the Strathcona Wilderness Centre, Elk Island.
We also need to spend a day at the beach at Miquelon and get some fresh peas at a local U Pick.
That's not even touching other fun trips out of the area, I'd really like to go to Heritage Park in Calgary again and one day take DS to see the badlands and do the train ride out at Stettler.
