The brother of a friend of mine was killed by a driver recently. Her brother was on his bike making a turn when an SUV driver who was doing something else while he drove hit him and caused fatal injuries. The driver didn't even know he had hit someone, and thought another car had sideswiped him instead. My friends' brother was thrown 40 feet and was so severely injured paramedics were suprised he was still alive when they arrived. He survived long enough to donate some of his organs and then was taken off of the machines that were keeping him alive.
Please, if you're reading this, drive carefully. Texting, finding another CD, dialing your phone or retrieving a snack or toy for your kids can wait until you pull over. I'm going to be more careful too.

wow, so sorry, but thank you for sharing. Driving with screaming kids can be really distracting...I'm going to tune them out more.
