Christmas on the Square Light Up

I guess one good thing about it getting dark early is you can have fireworks at 5 pm!

What: Christmas on the Square Holiday Light Up

Where: Sir Winston Churchill Square

When: Saturday, November 15th from 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Christmas on the Square Holiday Light Up will deliver the yuletide entertainment that you and your family have been looking forward to all year long!

Festivities will feature roving entertainment from Firefly Theatre, Rapid Fire Theatre, a local ice carver, a face painter, and sleigh rides around City Hall. The stage show will begin mid-afternoon and will feature Time Flies, the University of Alberta’s Madrigal Choir, and Essence of Praise.

In addition to the fun activities on the Square and on stage, make sure to visit the tents on-site for a special off-season appearance from the 104th Street City Market. With over 30 vendors on the square, you’re guaranteed to get your City Market fix until they open again in the spring.

The finale of the event is expected to be of unseen proportions as Santa Claus himself and the Honorable Mayor Mandel will introduce an amazing fireworks show, as well as BrightNights on the Square, and the highly anticipated tree lighting. This year is expected to be will be the most memorable light up for our capital city as thousands of LED lights on the largest Christmas tree in Canada will be turned on for the holiday season.

Share the holiday spirit; be sure to bring a donation of a new book or toy for Santa’s Anonymous and/or a food donation for the Edmonton Food Bank. For more information, please call 780.424.4085.
